Below are my summaries of the best developer conferences that made it onto my shortlist. My reviews offer a look at each event’s dates, location, pricing, and unique offering.

1. WeAreDevelopers World Congress - Berlin, Germany (July 8-10, 2026)

WeAreDevelopers World Congress is one of the world's largest developer events, drawing 15,000+ builders and 500+ speakers to Berlin. It's organized by WeAreDevelopers, founded by CEO Sead Ahmetovic.

Why attend? The 2026 program goes deep on AI in real engineering workflows—agents, security, observability, and delivery patterns. You'll find hands-on workshops, live coding, and a 40,000+ sqm expo. Speakers include Werner Vogels (Amazon CTO) and Michael Kagan (NVIDIA CTO).

Devoxx Belgium is a 5-day developer conference founded in 2001 as JavaPolis by Stephan Janssen and BeJUG. Now one of the largest independent Java conferences globally, the 2026 edition focuses on the theme "From Developer to Builder," covering AI, Java 27, and agentic engineering.

Why attend? Devoxx Belgium packs 200+ talks, deep-dive sessions, and hands-on labs across tracks in Java, cloud, security, architecture, and AI into one week at Kinepolis Antwerp—a cinema complex that hosts sessions in actual screening rooms.
